what the college is really like

The campus tour is one of the best ways to find out this insider information. There is no substitute for getting your own personnal feel for the campus and see what is particularly attractive to you. It also allows you to come into direct contact with the administration, teachers and students and to ask them about the issues that are important to you and your family. In addition to finding out how things work academicly, you may want to find out who the best or most popular professors are, how happy the students are and perhaps what meals you may wnat to avoid in the cafeteria. Go and see what life is like for yourself.

What's on a campus tour?

Campus tours vary from one college to the next.
They may include any or all of the following features:

  • tours of the facilities - computer labs, libraries, etc.
  • outdoor tours of the athletic facilities
  • sitting in on a class
  • meeting faculty members
  • meeting currently enrolled students
  • an interview
  • viewing the range of student housing options
  • overnight stay on campus
  • meals in the cafeteria
  • information sessions with an admissions officer
  • questions and answers session(s)
